SMS - SMS stands for Short Message Service. It is available on digital GSM networks and allows for text messages of up to 160 characters to be sent and received via the network operator's message center to and from your mobile device. If the device is powered off or is out of range, messages are stored by the network operator and are delivered at the next opportunity.
